About the Speaker
Cheryl has been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia since 1998. After completing her Masters in Community Counseling from Georgia State University she started working with chemically dependent individuals and their families. She has worked in both the public and private sector serving as a counselor and counselor supervisor. In addition to addressing substance abuse issues she has extensive experience with personality disorders, depression and anxiety. Over the past few years she has gained training and experience in the sub- specialties of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Neurofeedback. She has been interested in the brain works and how it is expressed in our daily life since studying Psychology at the University of Connecticut in the early 90’s. Neurofeedback provides a bridge between biology, science and real life symptoms to improve clients’ lives in a real and practical manner. She lives in the Richmond Area with her husband, two children, and variety of pets.
