OVERVIEW

This dynamic 2-hour workshop identifies (3) research-based stress factors via as related to mental health providers. It identifies (3) evidence-based methods of self-care as well. These methods foster wellness and resilience among mental health providers. Participants will build skills that foster improved fulfillment at work. Introspective opportunities to assess current self-care strategies and develop a personal self-care will take place. This workshop utilizes multi-modal facilitation strategies including didactic presentation, structured experientials, group discussions with team-building emphasis, media viewing, and more.

OBJECTIVES

Participants will be able to:

• Establish working definitions for (3) research-based trauma terms that every mental health professional should know.

• Identify (3) stress symptoms and the impact of each on the mental health providers.

• Identify (3) evidence-based self-care methods for implementation using an accountability system.

 

About the Speaker

Xanthia Johnson LPC, LCPC, ACS, RPT-S is an expressive arts therapist. Her boutique private practice, Urban Playology LLC, is located in DuPont Circle DC. She has been providing transformative psychotherapy and expressive arts therapy to outliers, unique families, and LGBTQ folk in DC for over 15 years. Ms. Johnson is an expert consultant, sought after speaker, 2018 Service Award recipient, and Project 500 graduate from the Georgetown McDonough School of Business.
