What To Bring

As you prepare for admission to The Farley Center at Williamsburg Place, it’s essential to know what items to bring for a comfortable stay during your recovery journey. Our center provides a relaxed and casual environment where your days will be filled with group therapy sessions and assignments, while your evenings will involve community interactions or attendance at 12-step meetings.

After moving from detox and stabilizing, you’ll have opportunities to enjoy our beautiful grounds or explore the historic sites of Williamsburg and surrounding areas. We recommend packing comfortable clothing suitable for the season, including shoes and workout attire, and bringing a small amount of cash for incidental purchases such as toiletries.

Items You Cannot Bring:

  • Any devices capable of internet access (e.g., computers, laptops, iPads, Kindles).
  • Video or recording devices.
  • Any items containing drugs, alcohol, or alcohol-based products (including mouthwash, aftershave, cologne, aerosols, and certain food items).
  • Weapons of any kind (e.g., firearms, knives, Tasers).
  • Perfumes, colognes, body sprays, essential oils (all body fragrances).

Clothing Policy:

  • Avoid clothing with alcohol or drug-related logos or advertisements.
  • Women: No spaghetti straps, halter tops, tank tops, leggings, yoga pants, or similar attire.
  • Men: No tank tops, muscle shirts, or undershirts.
  • No revealing necklines or midriff-revealing shirts.
  • Undergarments must be worn and not visible.
  • Shorts and skirts should be no shorter than two inches above the knee.
  • Non-revealing robes should be worn over pajamas.

Useful Items to Bring:

  • At least one week’s worth of comfortable clothing (access to a washer and dryer is provided; laundry soap is included).
  • Sneakers or shoes with rubber soles suitable for walking.
  • Necessary identification cards.
  • A pillow (although one will be provided).
  • A small amount of cash.
  • An alarm clock.
  • Alcohol-free personal care products.
  • Insurance prescription authorization card or the necessary information.
  • Physician-approved medications in their original containers (ensure you have a refill if supplies are low).
  • Nicotine replacement products like patches or lozenges (no gum).
