Joint Commission Accreditation

The Farley Center is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and is accredited by the Joint Commission through the Behavioral Health Care Accreditation Program.

We believe all people should experience safe, high quality, and consistently excellent health care.

Joint Commission accreditation is the objective evaluation process of organizational compliance to performance standards designed to inspire and improve quality and safety for those they serve.

Within the Joint Commission accreditation process we survey to all standards, including those relevant from CMS and OSHA as well as our own. Our survey time together includes both an objective evaluation of standards compliance along with strategies and structures for improvement. Surveys are generally conducted every three years, however some settings including laboratories are surveyed every two years. Learn more about where standards come from and the survey experience.

After earning their accreditation award, healthcare organizations are eligible to display The Gold Seal of Approval®, a widely recognized symbol of quality and patient safety.
