An Introduction to The Farley Center

An Introduction to The Farley Center

When you have a problem, one of the most important things to do is to try to figure out who can help you solve that problem.

If it is something small—say, a leaky faucet—you might be able to solve the problem yourself. As the problem gets a little (or maybe a lot) bigger, however, it might be time to turn to an expert. For example, if you are talking about a burst pipe rather than a leaky faucet, you are going to want to hire a plumber. And you are going to want to be sure that the plumber is skilled and reliable.

Now, let’s say your problem is not about plumbing at all. Let’s say instead that your problem is that you have developed a substance use disorder. You want to quit using drugs or alcohol, but you can’t seem to do it because the withdrawal symptoms are unbearable and send you back to the problematic substances. What should you do?

You should turn to a team of substance use disorder experts—like the team at The Farley Center.

Our team is wholly committed to helping individuals who are struggling with addiction and their families. We work to create a welcoming environment that offers hope and support throughout the recovery journey.

Conditions We Can Treat

We admit that we will not do you much good if you are faced with a serious plumbing problem, but we absolutely can help you overcome an addiction to drugs or alcohol. We understand that substance use disorders are a chronic brain disease that can be treated, and we offer that treatment with compassion rather than judgment.

Our highly trained, experienced, and empathetic team can help you with an array of substance use and mental health issues, including:

We provide treatment for each of these conditions with a focus on our tridimensional approach. That means we are invested in treating your body, your mind, and your soul. To put it another way, we consider the biological dimension, the psychological dimension, and the social dimension of your life to more effectively treat your substance use disorder and any co-occurring mental health disorders.

A Wide Array of Treatment Options are Available

The Farley Center offers both inpatient (residential) and outpatient (day or “part-time”) treatment options. Our programs include:

  • Drug and alcohol detoxification: We provide a safe, medically supervised environment that is free of temptations so that you can successfully reclaim your sobriety.
  • Residential treatment: For many people, an inpatient program that includes group and individual therapy is the most effective way to work toward lasting sobriety.
  • Partial hospitalization program: This program works like our residential program during the day, but participants return home in the evenings.
  • Intensive outpatient program: Participants in our outpatient program are able to continue to work and maintain their other responsibilities while still receiving effective treatment.
  • Telehealth virtual intensive outpatient program: This program offers even more flexibility, allowing individuals to participate in treatment from their own home or other safe place.

The Farley Center also offers specialized programs. These include:

We are committed to matching each individual we serve to the right programs at The Farley Center. And if we don’t offer what you need, we will make recommendations and referrals.

A Range of Treatment Modalities

Part of the process of treating a substance use disorder, a mental health disorder, or combination of the two is finding the right therapeutic approach for your specific needs.

We provide individual and group therapy, and we are committed to trauma-informed and individualized treatment plans. As appropriate, we provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and experiential therapy. Our program also includes 12-Step support groups, motivational interviewing, education sessions, and more. We teach strategies and offer resources for relapse prevention.

In other words, you will never encounter cookie-cutter solutions at The Farley Center. We listen and learn to determine what approaches to treatment are right for you.
