April Green, M.S. stepped into the field born from the shear fascination with how people think and solve problems. She completed her Master’s of Social Work at Norfolk State University. Working alongside marginalized and vulnerable populations spirited her commitment to this field, which led to her being awarded Mental Health Practitioner of the Year for her company of 5,000 employees.
Her work in local jails and at the Hampton VA Medical Center has fortified her clinical acumen as they recurrently demanded her greatest skills- clinical assessment, suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, and critical thinking. April’s leadership path scaled quickly rising from a clinician to an administrator. Her first leadership role was in corrections as a Health Services Administrator where she was responsible for the overall healthcare service delivery, operations, and financial management of 100 staff with an $11 million budget.
Most recently, April was CEO at Safe Harbor. Leading teams and transforming organizations have inspired her to make the biggest impact.
